Aveo Systems’ Mira Connect Supports Zoom Rooms

PRESS RELEASE

March 4, 2019

Mira Connect touch panel and smart control appliance now brings Zoom Rooms control and room equipment control to users of Zoom Rooms software-defined video codecs.

Marietta, GA, USA – Aveo Systems has announced support of the popular Zoom Rooms platform via Mira Connect, its smart control appliance.

Mira Connect supports Zoom Rooms

Zoom Rooms software transforms an off-the-shelf computer into a powerful video and audio conferencing codec, replacing dedicated hardware-based video codecs. Mira Connect controls the Zoom Rooms codec and manages all the other equipment in the room including cameras, microphones, displays, video switchers, DSP audio products, and more.

Using Aveo Systems’ Mira Portal cloud-based platform, Mira Connect can be set up in minutes by simply selecting the equipment and enabling the desired features. The customized user interface is automatically generated for each Mira Connect in the facility. Even when different products are used in each room, Mira Connect provides a similar user experience from room to room. Users can easily launch calls, manage camera sources and content sharing, control volume, and seamlessly manage other products in the room — all through Mira Connect.

Zoom Rooms utilize ubiquitous USB peripherals for cameras, HDMI inputs and other devices,” said Craig Richardson, Aveo Systems’ CEO. “Many users include DSP audio systems and other devices within the room to improve the audio quality or add the functionality customers require. These devices are not supported by the Zoom Rooms control application, requiring separate controllers and increasing the complexity for collaboration users. With Mira Connect, management of the entire room is now handled easily by a single control panel.

Mira Connect extends the Zoom Rooms interface that existing Zoom Rooms users are familiar with, enabling easy use and immediate productivity for users.

Additional device controls appear on Mira Connect with intuitive icons that make it easy for Zoom Room users to control the other equipment in the room as well.

Organizations can easily customize their Mira Connect touchscreen with their company logo, preferred background image, and color scheme.

End users greatly value Mira Connect’s remote management capability. Through secure remote access to Mira Portal, the organization’s IT and support personnel are able to provide rapid assistance and remote management from anywhere.

Deployments of software-based meeting room collaboration tools, such as Zoom Rooms, have skyrocketed in recent years. And while these systems offer strong usability and cost-effectiveness, their user interfaces do not typically consider the other AV devices in the meeting room,” said Ira M. Weinstein, founder and managing partner, Recon Research. “Aveo Systems’ Mira Connect, with its newly released Zoom Rooms support, addresses this issue by providing a single UI for the entire meeting space – not just the collaboration system or codec. And power features like cloud provisioning and remote management make this solution even more compelling.

Details on how to set up Zoom Rooms operation, as well as other devices supported by Mira Connect, may be found at https://aveosystems.com/blog/.

In addition to Zoom Rooms, Mira Connect supports collaboration products from Polycom, QSC, Symetrix, ClearOne, Cisco, Shure, Biamp, Hall Research, Panasonic, Extron, Bose, Sharp, LG, Samsung, FSR, Klark Teknik, NEC, Epson, and more.

Mira Connect’s intuitive touch screen interfaces makes it easy to:

  • dial calls
  • adjust audio settings
  • manage projectors and displays
  • and control the room

all without the cost and complexity of custom programming associated with traditional control systems.

The platform allows integrators to easily install controllers in less time and efficiently deliver remote management services, while reducing system costs and complexity.

Aveo Systems Announces Additional Collaboration Control Support for Mira Connect

Mira Connect smart control appliance adds support for Hall Research video switchers, Panasonic projectors and Extron SW USB switchers.

Marietta, GA, USA – Aveo Systems continues to expand the collaboration product support offered by Mira Connect, the smart control appliance, and Mira Portal, its cloud-based management system, with support for Hall Research, Panasonic and additional Extron products.

A number of matrix and video presentation switchers from Hall Research are now supported. Mira Connect offers intuitive management of video source selection on these devices, making it easy for users to connect selected video sources to other connected devices in the room such as displays, projectors and video conferencing systems, and making it easy for integrators to install these products. The HSM-44-BX, HSM-88-4k, SC-1808R, HSM-04-04, and SW-HD4 products are supported.

Support for Panasonic projectors has also been added, allowing users of Mira Connect to easily manage input sources to the projectors using an Ethernet or RS-232 connection. A universal driver has been established for Mira Connect to manage the inputs selection on Panasonic projectors. As sources are enabled in Mira Portal, icons and meaningful source names can be created to make source selection simple for end users.

Further extending Mira Connect’s control capability for Extron video switchers, Aveo Systems has added support for the SW USB switcher series. This series makes it easy to use one set of USB peripherals with multiple computers. Applications include assigning USB room resources to a computer for software-defined collaboration applications.

“Our goal is to create intuitive user experiences while also making our control systems easy to install and manage,” said Craig Richardson, Aveo Systems CEO. “By supporting hundreds of different products from dozens of different manufacturers, Mira Connect offers a unique solution to those who integrate and use a wide range of products for their collaboration installations.”

Details on how to set up these products within Mira Connect may be found at https://aveosystems.com/blog/.

In addition to Hall Research, Panasonic and Extron product support, Mira Connect supports collaboration products from Polycom, QSC, Symetrix, ClearOne, Cisco, Shure, Biamp, Bose, Sharp, LG, Samsung, FSR, Klark Teknik, NEC, Epson, and more.

Mira Connect’s intuitive touch screen interfaces makes it easy to dial calls, adjust audio settings, manage projectors and displays, and control the room, all without the cost and complexity of custom programming.
