Display Multiple Zoom Camera Views Simultaneously
When hosting a Zoom call, have you ever wanted to display multiple Zoom camera views of your room and share content AT THE SAME TIME?
While it’s easy to re-position a camera, select a different camera, or share content from your laptop or document camera1, the Zoom Rooms experience is still limited to one camera view and one content view from the room (which can be a second camera). And, the Zoom meeting host has control of which view is displayed and when.
Sometimes it is extremely useful to show more than two views in a room concurrently. For example:
- showing different vantage points of a live medical procedure all at once so that remote participants can observe and learn from multiple angles.
Or showing three whiteboards in a lecture hall for the remote participants while supporting content sharing and a view of the instructor.
Or displaying different angles of a product assembly process simultaneously to make it easier to understand how it all goes together.
Or hosting a video conference of a legal hearing and being able to show close-ups of the judge, jury, and attorneys all at the same time so that remote participants can observe all courtroom dynamics.
As a remote participant, sometimes you’d like to choose which view is large on your personal screen. For instance, what if your professor has just switched the view of the whiteboard back to a self view, and you are not done studying the whiteboard? How do you change what is displayed on your screen back to the whiteboard? Well, you can’t if that view isn’t there anymore.

The Approach: Multiple Zoom Rooms
The way to display multiple Zoom camera views at the same time is to use multiple Zoom Rooms systems dialed into the same call with each focused on a different view.
The primary Zoom Rooms system is used for the lecturer, and additional secondary Zoom Rooms systems are pointed at whiteboards or other views of the room that are important to the presenter and remote participants. The primary Zoom Rooms system manages the audio to and from the room and content sharing, while the secondary systems don’t need any audio and can have a fixed camera view.
The problem with using Zoom’s default controller application running on an iPad or Android device, is that you need multiple controllers to manage and launch each call separately. Manually coordinating multiple controllers imposes an extra burden on a presenter who is focused on delivering meaningful content to remote participants.
Fortunately, with Aveo’s latest software release, a presenter can launch multiple Zoom Rooms calls simultaneously from one easy-to-use Mira Connect touch panel.
Multiple Zoom Rooms systems can be managed directly from one Mira Connect touch panel.
The Answer: Mira Connect makes dialing multiple Zoom calls easy
The Mira Connect touch panel control system can control multiple Zoom Rooms systems in a room and dial multiple Zoom Rooms into the same call as easily as dialing one call.
Once Mira Connect is configured with multiple Zoom Rooms (see our detailed integration guide), the instructor simply dials a Zoom call from a calendar meeting invitation, direct dial (as shown in the following figure), or launches a ‘Meet Now’ meeting.
Mira Connect makes it easy to dial a Zoom call from a calendar invite, a ‘Meet Now’ meeting, or with direct dialing.
Mira Connect then automatically dials multiple additional Zoom Rooms into the same call and becomes the host of the meeting, as shown in the following figure. You can use as many secondary Zoom Rooms as you need.
Mira Connect will automatically dial the secondary Zoom Rooms system, joining them to the same call.
The remote participants can then choose which view to ‘pin’ on their Zoom application, and all views from the room are available all the time.
Remote participants can pin different views of the room on their Zoom application.
Set up is easy and is described in our Zoom Rooms Integration Guide.
Trainers and instructors can now easily start their Zoom call, and Mira Connect automatically joins the secondary Zoom Rooms systems to the same call. When the meeting is over, hanging up with Mira Connect will hang up all the secondary Zoom Rooms systems automatically, even when you allow the remote participants to remain in the call after the room hangs up.
Just one Mira Connect touch panel is required in the room. There is no need to use multiple Zoom Rooms controllers to support multiple Zoom calls.
About Mira Connect
Mira Connect is an A/V control system that control displays, audio processors, projectors, cameras, video codecs (including Zoom Rooms), video switchers, lighting systems, and much more — all without the need for custom programming. Enter the equipment in a ‘room’ created in Mira Portal, pair the ‘room’ with a Mira Connect touchscreen, and a professional user interface is immediately created. Available in tabletop and wall-mounted options, Mira Connect presents an intuitive user experience for any audio/visual application including conference rooms, training rooms, courtrooms, houses of worship, higher-education, retail, and more.
The Mira Connect Advantage
An important advantage of Mira Connect for partners and end-users is that, unlike traditional room control systems, Mira Connect requires no programming. Aveo Systems has built a platform that makes it fast and easy for partners to set up their Mira Connects with Mira Portal, our cloud-based management software for Mira Connect.
Mira Connect also has built-in remote management and equipment status notifications of the system, perfect for an IT/AV support team that may not be located near the room. Remote IT/AV teams can control the entire Mira Connect user interface for all their rooms from their browser.
Remote IT teams can manage all their rooms through Mira Portal.
And for room users who prefer not to touch a shared touchscreen or would like to control the room from anywhere in the room, we’ve designed our patent-pending Mira Connect Me so users can quickly, easily, and safely access Mira Connect’s user interface temporarily on their own personal devices without having to touch a shared device.
