Mira Connect Supports ATEN Video Switchers

 In Blog, Video

Aveo Systems’ Mira Connect smart touchscreen control system manages all of the A/V equipment in your conference room. Easy to set up — with no costly programming required — and even easier to use, Mira Connect is the smart choice for integration partners and end users who are looking for a practical and economical alternative to traditional control systems.

Mira Connect now controls ATEN video matrix switches and several ATEN USB/KVM switchers. Mira Connect makes it easy for users to select video inputs and change sources to one or more displays or other devices, as well as control other conferencing equipment in the room, including video conferencing equipment, displays, and more.

And with Mira Connect’s remote management capability, you’ll be able to control your ATEN video switcher and the rest of your room from anywhere.

Getting Started

To get started, select your room in Mira Portal, the cloud-based management platform for Mira Connect. In the equipment dialog area, click ADD. Next select ATEN Video Switcher from the equipment type and choose the desired switcher model from the pulldown menu, as shown below.

Enter the IP address of the switcher and navigate to the VIDEO INPUTS tab. Enable the desired video inputs to use, select an icon, and enter labels and descriptions that will be helpful for the users.

To use the outputs from an ATEN video switcher, add a display and enable an input on the display (HDMI 1 on an LG display, in this example).

Select ‘Use Sources Connected to Other Equipment…’. Select the ATEN video switcher and then choose the desired output (Output HDMI 2 from the ATEN video switcher is shown in this example) from the ATEN video switcher that is connected to the display’s input.

Once the selections are made within Mira Portal, the display menus are immediately created on the associated Mira Connect touchscreen panel. Users can readily and easily select which video source input on the ATEN video switcher to view on their display.

Below is an example of the Mira Connect user interface using two displays, each one using a different output from the ATEN video switcher.
